Shape your experience around what interests you most: waterfalls, viewpoints or quieter sections. Your guide adjusts pacing and stops based on live crowd flow, weather and lighting.

Don't waste time waiting to get in

Enjoy skip-the-line access and avoid the large crowds at the park entrance — more time for lakes and waterfalls.

Up to 10 people

Experience this natural gem in peace. No crowds — just you, your friends or family, and your private guide.

Personal guide

A certified guide leads you through the Upper and Lower Lakes and shares the story of Croatia’s oldest national park. Ask anything that comes to mind.

On the UNESCO list for a reason

Plitvice earned its UNESCO title by being incredibly well-preserved. Sixteen lakes cascade from one to the next via waterfalls — the most spectacular is Veliki Slap, Croatia’s tallest at 78 m.

Largest national park in Croatia

Croatia has eight national parks; Plitvice is the largest at almost 30,000 hectares. Centrally located yet close to Kvarner and northern Dalmatia, it’s ideal as a day trip from the coast or a stop between Zagreb and Dalmatia.

Unique geology and morphology

You’ll learn about karst — limestone and dolomite shaped into sinkholes, caves and springs. The lake system formed roughly 15,000 years ago thanks to growing tufa barriers. Cascading waterfalls connect the lakes in an ongoing biodynamic process — so Plitvice looks slightly different every visit.

An open laboratory and museum

Scientists have studied Plitvice since the Habsburg era — research into lake depths began in 1850 and continues today across flora, fauna, geology and more. On this tour you’ll ride an electric boat across Kozjak Lake and a panoramic train along the lakes.

Cascading waterfalls & Veliki Slap

Twenty waterfalls taller than 10 m and six taller than 20 m create Plitvice’s mosaic of water. Your guide takes you to Veliki Slap (78 m / 255 ft) at the bottom of the Lower Lakes — spectacular after heavy rain, and in winter often a giant ice sculpture.

Tailor your tour

Tell your guide if you want to focus on waterfalls, viewpoints or quieter paths. Ask about how the forest shelters rare wildlife — brown bears, wolves and lynx live hidden within it.

Good to know before you go

  • We recommend sportswear and comfortable closed shoes with good grip.
  • In autumn or spring bring a warm sweater; a small umbrella or raincoat helps when weather turns.
  • This tour includes reserve now & pay later and free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.
  • Weather, crowds and scenery change through the year — pick the season that matters most to you.
  • Stay on designated paths — stepping off can damage fragile tufa formations that take decades to form.
  • In warmer months, a travel-sized insect repellent helps in shaded humid sections near water.
  • There are restaurants in and around the park (including Lička Kuća for traditional Lika cuisine) and picnic areas if you bring your own food.
  • Restrooms are near park entrances and at major trail intersections.

Why this tour is the best choice

Fully personalized experience

Plitvice gets crowded fast. A private guide can wait for quieter moments at viewpoints or shift stop order to avoid overlapping with large coach groups.

An expert guide

Guides don’t just explain waterfalls — they adjust direction, pacing and stops based on live crowd flow, weather and lighting so you see more and wait less.

Full park upgrade

The standard route covers the Lower Lakes canyon, main waterfalls, boat and train. Upper Lakes are an optional extension for a quieter, more forested area with fewer people.

Time-saving transport

The electric boat and panoramic train aren’t just scenic extras — they’re essential for covering the park efficiently without losing time walking between distant sections.
